Spring Bucket List Ideas

Hi friends! Now that the weather is slowly catching up with the season, I thought it would be a perfect time to brainstorm some fun bucket list ideas. My goal is to offer practical, fun and affordable ideas for ways to have a happy, healthy and invigorating spring no matter the circumstances you are in.

Bucket list

I love the idea of creating bucket lists because they somehow make ideas and dreams more real and attainable. I also love being able to organize my goals into different categories and adding enough simple and affordable ideas to easily sprinkle into the most mundane of weeks. I also love to use my bullet journal and pretty colorful markers to handwrite the list just because. So, get out some stationary or a notebook and some bright pens or markers and get ready to make your list alongside me!

1.) Paint easter eggs

I have not done this since childhood, but this year I really want to try my hand at acrylic pouring on some easter eggs! In fact, I just might do a blog post about that so stay tuned. But even if you just wanted to hand-dip easter eggs or maybe paint some simple detailing with watercolors, it is a fun activity you can easily do with friends, family or kids. If you really want to be inspired, this article has some incredible egg-painting ideas!

2.) Handwrite easter cards

I am a huge fan of hand-painting and handwriting cards for all sorts of occasions. I am looking forward to painting some cute spring-themed Easter cards and maybe even scripture cards to give to close friends and family. I love having seasonal stationary to hang on the bulletin board and think hand-writing cards for various seasons besides Christmas and birthday is a great way to show love all year round.

3.) have a picnic

I think picnics are the best and are such a great way to get fresh air once the afternoons warm up and the trees start blooming. Whether it be sitting outside in the backyard or going to a park or by the creek, taking time to sit in nature and nibble on some yummies either solo or with family is a great spring tradition.

4.) make lemon poppyseed muffins

To me, lemon poppyseed muffins just epitomize spring. Not only are they my favorite muffins (followed closely by pumpkin spice), but they are refreshing and go great with tea.

5.) Get afternoon sunshine

Something that is on my bucket list in those mild and temperate months between sweltering heat and frigid cold is to get afternoon sunshine. There are countless health benefits that come from even a just a few minutes of afternoon sunlight each day.

6.) Experiment with spring recipes

Spring is a time for access to fresher greens so it is a great time to incorporate more greens and vegetables into some fun recipes. I personally enjoy having lighter means with more greens and fresh spices in the spring. This article has several delicious spring recipe ideas that I am planning to try.

7.) Detox regimen

This may seem like a strange item to list on a bucket list, but I promise the benefits are worth it. Because of my chronic health issues from having Lyme disease and related “stuff”, I try to detox as much as possible. However, ALL of us are exposed to toxins on a daily basis and sometimes we just need to cleanse our insides. Right? Spring is a great time to detox with natural ingredients like lemon water and smoothies while also cutting back on heavy and sugary items we often consume in the winter months (at least somewhat).

8.) do an easter bible study

I love that no matter where I am in my life or heart or what is going on in the world, I can come back to the resurrection each Easter and find new hope and grace. Easter and spring can be a great time to start a new devotional or Bible study to refocus on who Jesus is and what his accomplishment really means for us. The Daily Grace and She Reads Truth are great resources for those interested!

9.) visit a flowery nursery

I SO look forward to visiting the flower nursery once the flowers begin blooming. Sometimes just walking around and smelling everything or taking some pictures is enough to soak up the spring vibes. But of course, there is nothing like fresh flowers so why not pick out some?

10.) go to local farm

Spring is a great time to visit a local farm and pet some baby animals! One thing on my bucket list this spring in particular is to go to a local farm and bottle feed the barn kittens. Spring is kitten season so if you have ever dreamed of adopting a kitty that could make for an excellent bucket list item!

11.) Declutter and Switch wardrobe

For some people, decluttering is a passion. For others, like myself, it is somewhat of a dreaded chore. But if there was ever a season that was most motivating to get some decluttering on, it would be spring. I cannot deny the excitement and satisfaction that comes from putting away all the heavy winter sweaters and swapping them for my denim jackets and sundresses.

12.) afternoon tea

My favorite magazine ever is Victoria Magazine. Nearly every issue features a stunning tea party of some sort and they master the aesthetic of a garden tea party like no other. Years ago I had a Valentine’s Day tea party and I have been dying for an excuse to whip out the tea set ever since. So stay tuned for a potential garden tea party post at some point this spring!
