September Small Joys

September Small Joys

Happy September!

I cannot believe we are already halfway through September and entering the most magical, mysterious, beautiful and thrilling time of year…..fall!!!!!

While I would love to ramble on with musings and updates and deep insights, I know my limits right now and am going to continue keeping it simple. I enjoyed being able to share bite-sized posts on my favorite sources of summer inspiration and personal highlights, so I want to continue on that note.

Something I have been really focusing in on are the SMALL, simple joys to be found in every day life. My pain, fatigue, brain fog, malaise, etc. have continued to be insanely debilitating (yes I realize that you would never guess that from those pictures—which represents one of the few times I’ve felt well enough to leave the house), and things in my personal life are very turbulent, but I want to purposefully focus my eyes elsewhere and instead find ways to CELEBRATE the beautiful, simple pleasures and joys of life this fall. So my hope is to share those with you and see where this goes!

Simple Joys:

  • A crisp afternoon to get coffee with my sister and getting to explore the side streets of Lambertville, NJ

  • Some bright orange roses that encapsulate the vivid energy of the fall months

  • Making my bedroom and “studio” space cozy and ready for the new season (Hygge, here we come!!!)

  • Getting a front row view of totally random but completely MAGICAL fireworks from my BEDROOM WINDOW on Labor Day (see pictures below…it looks fake but I promise it’s real)

  • Starting to pumpkin spice it up in my morning coffee and hot chocolate (perhaps more details to come)

  • Some heartwarming cards and sweet little gift packages from friends who keep me encouraged

  • CRISP mornings and evenings, turning off the window air conditioners and opening up those windows :)

  • The nostalgia of fall around the corner and the hope that a new season brings (and a new doctor…yay)

Your Turn

Well, I hope this encourages you to also notice and celebrate the small, little joys each day and makes you excited for fall!
