Hello blogging friends!

Happy Spring 2024! I hope this year has been good to you so far. And if it hasn’t, I hope that Spring can usher in some sweet times. If you were to tell me this time last year what my life would be looking like now, I would be in absolute shock. Because……..I am getting married this year!

I know…..crazy! Sooooooo crazy. But guys, it’s really happening. On February 16 (also the day of my 32nd birthday), I got engaged! I might get into more details about our love story in time, but for now I will tell you that our story has God’s touch ALL over it. We met last summer and pretty much connected right away. Not only did we share values and lifestyle preferences, we also both had emerged from our own personal testimonies of loss and trauma. My future husband is a widower who knows what it is like to lose a spouse to illness. Sharing my chronic illness saga with him was met with such grace and encouragement as I continue to progress in my journey. Not only will I be marrying someone amazing, but I will ALSO get to become a stepmother to his two beautiful and super fun daughters. I could NOT be more excited to start life with this crew of three in just FOUR SHORT MONTHS!

Four months, you ask? Yes. Am I insane for planning a wedding in such a “short” amount of time? Maybe! But we are SO ready to be married and done with the long distance. I will be moving out to the Harrisburg area in August—so still a Pennsylvania girl but just a different county :).

So, life these days is pretty full! Planning a wedding is no joke…even a smaller, more intimate wedding like ours. But I think we are making solid headway and found a really unique venue we can really picture our special day. The rest is still a work in progress, although I DID find my dress! Some of the photos from the collages above show the dress shopping process but you won’t see the actual dress there…that is a surprise.

I am also working on painting my own wedding invitations! I love to paint cards and figured this was a great chance to design wedding stationary. Beyond these little tidbits, I’ll just say that the wedding will have a more laid-back, rustic chic vibe with lots of purple thrown in the mix.

Stay tuned for more details along the way. I want to share how we picked our flowers and what my stationary design process looked like. Talk soon!
