My Artistic Dilemma

I Have a Dilemma

I love to create. I love to paint. I love making cards, prints and all sorts of abstract creations.

So what’s the problem? I don’t know what to do with all of my creations!

Well, that’s not entirely true. I love to send handmade cards to people in my life. It’s one of my favorite things to do and I find that it always encourages others. But sometimes I will do a painting or print and then wonder, what the heck am I supposed to do with this now? I only have so many friends to send cards to, and I can only horde so much of my own work!

Help Me Out

Readers—can you help me out? Many people have been pinging me lately and encouraging me to step up my game and start selling my work.

My hesitation? I’m sort of pinching pennies. Sure, I would love to make some money from my work, but I am also weary of too much investment cost.

My proposed compromise? Instead of starting an Etsy shop or selling directly from my website yet, I am thinking of starting a separate, official Instagram account to specifically promote and sell my art.

I’m gnawing over this idea but I would love some feedback….do I go for it? Besides hand-painted stationary, small canvases or prints, I can have my abstract alcohol ink paintings printed on almost anything. I can have them turned into custom stationary, notebooks, phone cases, coasters, mugs or even cosmetic bags. There are many options for what I could create with my art—I would just need the motivation of knowing someone would actually be interested in purchasing them.

Would You be Interested?

My final step before pushing ahead is wanting to know if you would be interested in having some official, custom Unpolished Ponderings goodies of your own. Please let me know!
